Releasing the textile from the surface and giving it an independent shape is an essential aspect in my exploration of traditional craft. The series consists of three autonomous cylindrical objects in which the textile creation plays the central role. The pattern is precisely made to fit one object. From every angle they show different details and colour combinations. The structure of the surface seduces to touch and conveys tactile sensuality. The Cylindrical Edition is part of my vision to elevate textile fabric to an independent object that bridges and connects spaces, interiors, art and design.

Each object consists of an oversized twill weave, handmade to measure, that clothes a cylindrical wooden body. The fabric is created on a weaving frame specially constructed by me, with integrated threaded rods that allow me to regulate the tension of the warp. A twill weave requires at least four shafts on a loom. To transfer this principle to my weaving frame, I attach the warp threads to be lifted to heddle rods, which enable me to open the respective shed for the weft thread with a single movement.
